Transmission is a monthly night club in Barcelona, and this compilation was released to celebrate their second anniversary. The night has their focus on contemporary new wave, post-punk, cold wave and dark wave and that's also what is to be found on this release.
The compilation mainly contains synth music like the dreamy Seacrypt, minimalistic Xiu or the mad and a bit unusual Nöi Kabát song Kitchen Person. There's a couple of rock songs on it though. In Death It Ends, who will appeal to fans of The Soft Moon, Des Ames Libres and In A Lonely Place all deliver really good gothic post-punk. Other highlights include the KaS Product-like Madmoizel, a band that plays synth pop with a cool punk edge - and Mas + Alla who delivers an instrumental and dreamy synth pop. This compilation showcases a couple of bands you probably haven't heard about before, but don't let that stop you.
