MOTH - First Second

MOTH is a fairly new Copenhagen band but the members will look familiar to people having attended their fair share of punk, post-punk and synth concerts in the last couple of years. They have released two great 7" singles so their debut album has been anticipated by a good amount of people into post-punk, wave and synth.

The A-side kicks off with the instrumental track Dysphoria and is followed by Young Future, Taste the Remains and Parasite, three songs showing how versatile the band can be. Young Future is borderline new wave with catchy guitar, Taste the Remains is dark syntheziser-driven post-punk that's just perfect for the dancefloor, and Parasite is down-tempo and disturbing goth. The B-side is also packed with quality tunes. Obelion Disco, Shrapnel and Headlights could do well in the clubs, making this an album every proper goth and wave DJ should have with him when spinning records. The B-side also contains the more down-tempo After the Fire, which goes well hand in hand with Parasite from the A-side.

The album on Bandcamp.
